Hmmm...

this poem had a definite divide; I re read it. The first half felt very urban, very modern, very rythmic and busy, and had a very definite style that I haven't read in a while. The second half gave it a dark twist, but a personal, almost legendary feel.

Dear Mark...
As I read on & on...
the poem is amazing though it has a very sad ending.. but I can say it is with pride.. I love the ending too atually...

she looks down at her love
with tears in her eyes
a long breath later
she begins to cry
her tears stream down
onto her fallen hero

It is about the man who fight with a pride..
Fighting for what he's believe in..
and it is about a woman..
who would shed tears for the man she loves.. great love & spirit.. :)

Mark, you have a way with words. I love the language you use to convey your thoughts, it's unorthodox and moving. Great write =)

wow
i'm so flattered. i meant to write the 45th prick two weeks ago - but i let things get in the way, and managed to write other poems because i knew how painful it would be to write

i can say, today, it was worth the pain it took to write yesterday after receiving these wonderful comments

i've been through hell -
and when it can't destroy you
it releases you

Mark, this is beautiful. I especially love :: she looks down at her love
with tears in her eyes
a long breath later
she begins to cry
her tears stream down
onto her fallen hero

Mark, this is such a moving write.. from the title to the fallen hero... such a passionate warmth you write with, in a style completely your own..

'around the 45th prick
he could feel no more
his stolen senses
were quietly restored
his body had waned
to an audible snore '

is an awesomely still stanza.. the calm before the deluge of cleansing tears upon the fallen hero in the final...
